How AP Computer Science scoring works
Both exams build a composite out of 100 and map it to a 1–5. The composite math below is exact for the current format; only the final boundaries are estimated, because College Board never publishes them.
AP CSA composite
42 multiple-choice questions are half the exam; four free-response questions — Methods & Control Structures (7 pts), Class Design (7), Array/ArrayList (5) and 2D Array (6) — are the other half. FRQ readers award each rubric point independently, so correct logic earns partial credit even when code is unfinished.

AP CSP composite
Every correct answer on the 70-question multiple-choice exam is one composite point. The Create Performance Task — your code plus the written responses answered on exam day — is scored on six all-or-nothing rubric rows worth five points each.
